CNC turning services

CNC turning for shafts, sleeves and precision rotational parts.

Turned parts are reviewed around concentricity, runout, fits, threads, grooves, surface finish and how each feature will be measured.

Typical parts

Shafts, pins, sleeves, bushings and adapters

Critical relationships

Diameters, shoulders, runout and concentricity

Secondary features

Rotational geometry

Control the features that affect motion and assembly

Bearing journals, seal surfaces, shoulders and thread interfaces often carry different finish and tolerance needs. The drawing should distinguish functional surfaces from general geometry.

  • Diameter fits and mating conditions
  • Runout and datum-axis definition
  • Shoulder location and face relationships
  • Grooves, undercuts and thread callouts

Handling

Protect finished surfaces after machining

Long slender parts can distort, while fine finishes can be damaged during cleaning or transport. Process and packaging decisions should reflect the actual service surfaces.

  • Length-to-diameter stability review
  • Soft-jaw and workholding considerations
  • Burr control at cross-features
  • Individual protection for critical surfaces

Questions buyers ask

Technical answers before the RFQ.

Can turned parts include milled features?

Cross-holes, flats and slots may be coordinated as secondary operations after geometry review.

How should shaft fits be specified?

Use the drawing to define the fit, datum reference, surface finish and any measurement or reporting requirement.
